If you’ve just started a blog, meaning that is still relatively new, then you’ve come to the right article! I happen to have the information that you need in order for you to gain more traffic, as well as finding ways for you to monetize your blog. So, without further ado, let’s get started!
Find the Right Topic
A blog is a platform where you can create articles or blog posts. That being said, you shouldn’t write just about anything- you have to find the right topic that your readers will actually want to take the time to read.
This can actually be the most challenging job yet since it is hard to come by some ideas that will help you monetize your blog.
But, the best way you can gain some ideas for your articles would be to think about your target audience and think about providing them with a solution to their pain points.
Do Your Research
Once you’ve come up with your topic, it is important that you actually have the right information to support it as well. The reason why you want to write blog posts is plenty. It could be that you want to entertain people and it can also be a platform where you can inform or educate them.
If you are going for the latter, doing proper research about the topic will really help. For instance, if you are writing a blog post about tips on how to lose weight, you have to cite studies and factual information that can help make your post more relevant and informative than others.
Write a Killer Headline
With so much content available to people nowadays, one way you can stand out above the rest would be to write catchy headlines. You see, people rely on headlines before they will decide whether to click on a link or not, so make it count.
Market Your Blog
Okay, so you’ve written a couple of content pieces and you are ready to promote your website. The next step would be to market it on different platforms- two of which are social media and social bookmarking sites.
Social media need no introduction because you are probably using one or two platforms, but social bookmarking sites such as Reddit, for example, is a great way for you to promote your content.
Take the Time to Review Your Posts
Even if you’ve done your research and you took your time to write your content pieces, I still encourage you to review your article before posting it just to make sure that it is free of errors.
I cannot count how many times I’ve missed some errors just because I was so focused on letting the words flow out of my mind.
Take Some Feedback
People will have something to say. Whether it is good or bad, you have to learn how to take some feedback and criticism. If people were to give negative thoughts about your article, then look at it from a perspective where you have to improve your craft. Most of the time, their feedback is just targeted towards the post that you’ve written and not your entire being.
